Michelle Evans . Subsidiarity has many facets and is somewhat of an ambiguous principle. Its meaning depends on the context in which it is used, and even then, the principle can be regarded as open to interpretation. While Catholic Social Teaching develops in dialogue with changing social realities, some principles have stood the test of time.
